About the place

The Colosseum opened in Pattaya in July 2013, on Thepprasit Road. The hall was built with the Colosseum in Rome in mind: a concrete and glass facade and a raised stage. When it opened it was presented as the largest cabaret of its kind in Asia. The site covers 16 rai, about 25 dunams, with a car park and elevators to all floors.

The show combines dance theater by professional, experienced performers, a futuristic light and sound system, a hydraulic stage, set design and costumes. According to the official website, it is made up of 14 segments and is performed every day.

Each segment tells a different story. In the opening segment, the Queen of the Sun rides a vehicle shaped like a phoenix and builds a city of happiness called Colosseum. In another, the Phoenix Queen breaks out of a glass cage in a display of flames. A swan goddess and a dragon goddess appear among jasmine flowers, a woman with supernatural powers floats in the air and lights up the world, and toys come to life and declare that they belong to no one. In the segment about the goddess Lakshmi, a woman asks for blessings for travelers from distant lands. The evening closes with a jazz-style dance adapted from Brazilian samba.

Among the other segments: a goddess among heavenly lotuses in a paradise land, a fortune teller who predicts happiness and luck for everyone, a woman with a dog who draws loud applause, and a girl in a garden of time who hopes her lover will return. In another segment, a young man arrives with his friends to make up with his beloved, and they dance together.

In the list of segments on the official website, the evening opens with The Miracle Colosseum and closes with You Will Be in My Mind. In the opening segment the Queen of the Sun leads attendants who represent the 12 zodiac stars. In the segment Liuli Water Yoke Girl, a young woman carries water with her partner, inspired by village life and the search for true love.

In the segment Mo Li Hua, a swan goddess and a dragon goddess gather with angels among jasmine flowers to create balance for birth into the world. In the segment Power, the woman with supernatural powers channels electric energy to the ground to brighten the world. In the segment The Phoenix, the Phoenix Queen breaking out of the cage and spreading flames symbolizes eternal life.
